When you think of Los Angeles Punk Rock, You think of Informal Society. The band first formed back in 2004 as a terrible prank. Over the years, through much perseverance, the band has combated levels of alcoholism, drug addiction, the loss of friends, and self destruction—subjects that would serve as content for their releases such as “Drinking Problem,” “Recipe for Disaster,” “Sorry for the Mess,” and “Dead Rats & Rotten Apples” on No Edge Records. The band, consisting of Rick Bronson on Vocals, Skunk Chellovek on Guitar, Pedro Plegic on Bass, and Aaron Garcia on drums, really began to take off in 2015 (after returning from a short hiatus in 2012) to play with New York Punks, The Casualties. Since then, the band has done several US tours, UK tours (including Rebellion Festival), and a handful of shows in Mexico. They were described as “One of the most hardworking bands in LA” by the Stern Brothers, founders of Punk Rock Bowling Music Festival, and got invited to make their debut on the main stage in 2019. Informal Society’s Sound fuses Street Punk, Ska, Rocksteady, 77 Punk, Pogo, and Rock N Roll into creative and highly dynamic sing along songs. The band is most recognize for their on stage in your face antics, comedic sense of humor, and high volume sound. When informal Society comes to town, you better be ready to party because it’s gonna be a wild good time.
