Counterpunch is a punk rock band from Chicago that has been a staple of the Midwest’s melodic punk scene since 2001. Drawing influence from the melodic hardcore and skate punk sound of the 1990s, the band delivers a sound rooted in tradition while continuing to evolve with each release.
With four full-length albums and two EPs to date, Counterpunch’s most recent effort, Rewire (2022), was released through Thousand Islands Records and SBÄM Records. Known for their high-energy live shows, the band has toured extensively, performing in over 18 countries across North America, Europe, and South America.
Currently in the studio working on their next full-length release, Counterpunch remains focused on pushing their sound forward while honoring the legacy of the scene that shaped them.
