The Pandoras, an iconic all-girl garage-rock band formed in Los Angeles in the mid-80s by founder Paula Pierce (singer/songwriter/guitarist). Members include Melanie Vammen and Kim Shattuck (both co-founders of The Muffs), Karen Basset, and Sheri Weinstein. The band released albums on Rhino Records, Restless/Enigma, Bomp!, and was signed by and recorded an album for Elektra Records. Throughout the years, they’ve toured the US and Canada extensively. The band has been featured on various video and TV shows including The Arsenio Hall Show and MTV, as well as heavy rotation on KROQ and many other commercial and college radio stations. Tragically, Paula Pierce passed away in 1991.
In 2013, the band reunited with Kim taking over on lead vocals/guitar and began touring the US and Europe. In 2018, the band released Hey! It’s The Pandoras, a 7-song EP which continues to receive heavy airplay on Sirius XM’s Little Steven’s Underground Garage. In 2019, Kim Shattuck lost her life to ALS.
Melanie, Karen, and Sheri have continued playing, touring and recording as The Pandoras with Karen taking over lead vocals and guitar. Now joining them on bass is Natalie Sweet. The band continues to deliver the snarling, infectious energy fans have loved for decades. “We always celebrate the lives of our badass bandmates and family, Paula Pierce and Kim Shattuck, who left us way too young. You are sure to shake your hips and bang your head as you dig a rockin’ fun time!"
